A member of our team recently went through the process of buying a factory seconds Bosch dishwasher from Home Clearance and here are some of the “leakages” in their customer service experience.

I should point out that the experience with Home Appliances from Winnings was exceptional and that most of these leakages are the fault of Bosch!

Buying factory second fridges, washing machines and dishwashers is big business and a huge lead generation tool for existing retailers like Harvey Norman, Bing Lee and The Good Guys.

The biggest issues were:

  • Where and how to register for warranty (it appeared to be NZ focused)
  • How to install the dishwasher

Home Clearance actually offered an installation service but we wanted to see if we can do it ourselves and must admit that most households would have someone install it and most likely a plumber.

There were instructions for how to install it but we ended up finding a 30 minute Youtube video about each aspect of the installation, including power, drainage and water supply.
