The very nature of applying for a job is competitive. A job is advertised and sometimes hundreds of applicants apply to get that job and the guaranteed weekly income that comes with it.

Once you have that job you feel safe in the knowledge that you have an income that you can count on.

There are a couple problems with this scenario.

  1. There are dozens of applicants who will need to go through that process over again as they apply for another position that might be similar.
  2. Some of the applicants have no experience and will have to apply to many more jobs

The problem with our business environment at the moment is there is no incentive to hire someone who needs to be trained up, particularly if that person is an adult.

In this job market you will succeed by taking your future into your own hands and get the experience you need as a volunteer or with an internship.

In both of these scenarios you’ll benefit by helping others and get the experience and confidence that comes with upskilling in the bookkeeping industry.
