There is a good reason that training course providers want to be “accredited”, “endorsed” and “recognised” and it’s because students are looking for Certificates and training that will find them a job or career progression.
We’ve been watching the evolution of ICOES for several years now and even explored the value for training providers to join ICOES and be accredited by them but there was never a compelling reason.
In the past their website mentioned their “board members” but none of the people we researched seemed to mention ICOES on their own social media profiles?
When it comes to bookkeeping and accounting training courses there is only one real accredited that means anything for Australian students and that is ASQA and the Australian Quality Framework.
But most students don’t need this qualification unless they want to become a Registered BAS Agent.
Even CPA Australia now offer courses in MYOB and Xero but they aren’t nationally accredited.
If you want to learn about some of the other misleading claims and marketing for MYOB and Xero Bookkeeping courses read about Daniel from The Career Academy and how he went a little too far to seem accredited.
